Leonard James Eury

Into the Life
Leonard James Eury was born on July 7th, 1907, in Stanly County, North Carolina. He was the eldest child of Josephus Sanford Eury and Rosa Agnes Hill. Leonard registered for the military draft in 1943 while living in Atco, Bartow County, Georgia. Leonard was not drafted to active duty, as he was too old at the time. Throughout his life, Leonard moved between North Carolina and Georgia, eventually residing in Rockingham, North Carolina, by June 21, 1960. Leonard married Bertha Fay Howard, whom he had several children with. Leonard passed away on March 12, 1985, at the age of 77. He was laid to rest in North Carolina at Cottonville Baptist Church Cemetery in Norwood.
