David Wilson Poole was born on October 5, 1844, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to David Pool and Susan Chappell. His first marriage was to Flora Livingston on October 6, 1869, in Montgomery County, and they had many children together. He later married Francenia L. Coggins on January 3, 1889, in Eldorado, Montgomery County. David lived in North Carolina his entire life, passing away on May 25, 1917, in Montgomery County. He was buried at Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Montgomery County, North Carolina.
